The Problem of Pure Chance

Pure chance is thought to be indeterminate, but this is not true, because pure chance is an expression of sequences of numbers within irrational numbers. Irrational numbers are determinate because their sequences of numbers are totally predetermined. Any sequence of numbers that expresses pure chance can be expressed, after the fact, by a sequence of numbers within irrational numbers. In other words, pure chance is determinate, because it can be expressed by sequences of numbers within irrational numbers after the fact.

        In nature, pure chance is unpredictable because no one knows what irrational numbers nature uses to express particle behavior. Also, if we could know the irrational numbers nature uses to express particle behavior, there would still be the problem of determining where along the infinitely long sequences of numbers within irrational numbers nature may be at any instant in time. After all, the universe is billions of years old and nature may have been racing along the sequences of numbers within irrational numbers for billions of years, so that the points on the sequences that nature has reached today may be out of reach of human calculation for billions of years to come even with today's fastest computers.

        Nature may be controlled by equations in which there may be more than one valid solution in each time frame, and, in that case, nature would have to make specific choices between these various solutions. That does not mean that nature is indeterminate, because, on all levels, nature can be described by sequences of numbers within irrational numbers.
