The Brain and the Immune System

I believe that the brains of human beings are extensions of the immune systems of human beings. The purpose of the human immune system is to secure and defend the internal environments of human beings from dangerous internal and external substances that may be a threat to the life or well-being of the human organism. The human immune system is also concerned with the health and overall well-being of the human organism.

        In a similar manner to the human immune system, the human brain is concerned with the safety and well-being of the external environments of human beings. In order for the brain to do its job efficiently, it must be able to discriminate between different aspects of the external environment.

        Discrimination of various kinds is the first job of the human brain. After the human brain has done its job of discriminating between various aspects of its environment by using the senses of the body, its next task is to decide which aspects of the external environment are harmful and which are useful to itself. The brain then decides to love and utilize the useful aspects of its external environment and to hate, avoid, eliminate, etc., the harmful aspects of the external environment.

        When the human brain functions normally, the discriminating functions of the brain are in harmony with its environment, but when the human brain begins to function abnormally, psychologically speaking, the discriminating functions of the brain are not in harmony with the external environment, and the person develops abnormal discriminations like racism, bigotry, etc., but their recognition and treatment as psychological illnesses is rare.
