for sure, but I believe that man should temper his hope with genuine concern for the future. Nature is neutral where man is concerned, but I doubt that God will be neutral where man is concerned. Prayer and worship of God may not be fruitless, because God's judgment may be retroactive. It is my belief that God's judgment will be retroactive. In other words, religious prophecies created in the past may not be as absurd as one might think, but they merely put the cart before the horse where the existence of God is concerned.

Chapter Eighteen

The Digital Neurons

A digital neuron is the digital equivalent of a biological neuron. Electronic digital neuronic networks can create artificial intelligence and electronic consciousness, depending on whether quantum randomness or artificial randomness is employed in the electronic digital neuronic networks. If artificial randomness is employed, then the electronic digital neuronic networks will create artificial intelligence, and if quantum randomness is employed, then the electronic digital neuronic networks will create electronic consciousness.

        The basis of the digital neurons is the numbers 0 and 1, the if x, then y rule, the if x and y, then z rule and the x becomes the new y rule, where x, y, and z have the values 0 or 1.

        Digital neurons of type A are of the form: if x, then y, if y and z, then a, and a becomes the new z, where x, y, z and a can have the values 0 or 1 (see Figure 1).
